That's why I built Expand AI. Not as a tech company selling software — as a business operator who spent 45 years in the workforce and finally has the tools to fix the problems I watched business owners fight every single day.

Forty-five years in the workforce. I'm 58. I've been a line cook, a bar owner, a shuttle driver, a rideshare driver, a food delivery driver, a part-owner of a pasta house, a licensed real estate investor, a self-taught web developer, and the founder of a national sales organization. Every one of those roles put me face-to-face with the same question from the inside: where is this business leaking money, and what would it take to fix it?
Forty-two years of that was in restaurant operations — Taco Bell at 13, working my way through Sizzler, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Opryland, Dunkin' Donuts, and every other operation that would teach me something. In 1991, at 23, I became part-owner of Roberto's Pasta House in Florida and built a virtual restaurant called Joey's Pizza Pub inside its kitchen — a ghost kitchen before the category had a name. Thirty-five years later, that's the same playbook major franchises are considering for virtual brand expansion.
Seventeen years in transportation — driving for my uncle's BASIK Shuttle in Orlando from 2000 to 2005 at 150,000 miles a year, Uber rideshare since November 2015 (10,487 rides), Lyft (2,889 rides), and 43,000+ food deliveries across third-party delivery platforms beginning in 2020 (Pandemic). 95% of those deliveries were inside restaurants — that's over 41,000 live operations I've walked into and observed, watching from the inside where revenue leaks, where commissions bleed, and what franchise operators wish someone would build for them.
I built American Credit Alternatives — a business finance operation I founded and scaled to 725+ sales reps in two years. Before that, fourteen years licensed in Florida real estate — 102 properties flipped, designing and coordinating construction on the builds. I've created custom training programs teaching myself HTML and WordPress. If you're advising a business owner about their money, you better know what you're saying.
